When will Tezos launch?

Today the Tezos Mainnet Launched

TL/DR:

As the the betanet phase of Tezos worked out smoothly, the mainnet launches today (17th September 2018).

The network is not classified as experimental anymore.

Every transactions done on the betanet will be merged to mainnet. There is no action needed.

On 14th September 2018 the Tezos Foundation announced that Tezos will reach mainnet status on Monday 17th September 2018.

What is the difference between Betanet and Mainnet?

Basically nothing.

Betanet was only a label, as the Tezos protocol was tested during this period.

As there were no bugs or any other vulnerabilities during this phase Tezos reaches mainnet status on Monday 17th September.

All current balances from betanet are available on mainnet, because the blockchain per se is the same.

That means all betanet Tezos are real Tezos as well in mainnet status.

Important:

Be aware of Phishing! Never ever ever ever expose your private keys, your activation keys etc. to any third party.

Be aware of scammers. If someone tells you to do anything because of Tezos mainnet launch, he/she/it is a fraudster.

There is absolutely no action needed.
